3D Seismic Acquisition Design and Operation
2nd March 2020 - 4th March 2020
Event Navigation
Overview
The acquisition of geophysical data has become increasingly more diverse, with a broad range of operational practices and technologies being utilized. Participants through this course will be able to know about all necessary information about basic principles of seismic methods; 2D/3D seismic wave sampling and design 3D seismic surveys.
The course is designed to give participants a full description of all technology concepts behind the full scope of different types of seismic surveys acquired today and recognition of the many interwoven technical and operational factors in successfully executing 3D surveys. Understanding the conventional array seismic acquisition types against S4 (Single Source Single Sensor). Designing concepts of 3D land , marine towed streamer and OBC surveys will be provided through this course with heavily emphasis on relevant seismic acquisition operation approach including planning, logistics, permissions requested , designing and conducting the seismic surveys with utilizing sensible seismic equipments to conduct successful seismic operation and amenable seismic subsurface imaging for accurate seismic interpretation that will ultimately help in proper placement of wells trajectories. Several practical exercises will help in solidifying the understanding of the 3D planning and design and the course will provide simple design wizard software that will help participants in the future to design 3D surveys by themselves and lead to their Company cost optimization through money saving.
